What file format should I use for print-ready artwork?

Use PDF or high-resolution PDF with embedded fonts and images. Vector formats (AI, EPS) are ideal for logos and text.

What resolution should my images be?

Minimum 300 DPI at final size for high-quality print.

What is bleed and how much should I include?

Bleed ensures your design extends beyond the trim edge to create a high quality finish. Standard bleed is 3mm on all sides. For larger artwork like signage 10mm works best.

Which colour mode should I use?

Always use CMYK for print. RGB is for digital screens.

What paper stocks are available?

Common options include:

Gloss Coated: Vibrant colours, smooth finish.

Matte Coated: Soft finish, less glare.

Uncoated: Natural feel, good for writing.

Specialty Stocks: Textured, recycled, coloured or metallic papers.

What is GSM and how do I choose the right weight?

GSM measures paper thickness:

80–100 GSM: Standard text pages.

150–200 GSM: Flyers, posters.

250–350 GSM: Business cards, covers.

Do I need crop marks?

Yes, crop marks indicate to our production team where you intend your job to be trimmed.

What is the difference between coated and uncoated paper?

Coated paper has a smooth finish for sharp images; uncoated paper is more porous and has a natural texture. The difference in coated and uncoated texture will also impact the vibrancy of the colour printed onto the paper.

Can I use RGB images for printing?

No, convert all images to CMYK to ensure accurate colour reproduction.

How do I calculate my spine depth for PUR Binding?

Take the number of pages and divide it by two get get the total number of leaves. Multiply this by the grammage of your paper. This will give you the total depth in millimetres for your spine;

ie: 48pgs divided by two = 24 leaves x 0.15 (150gsm) = 3.6mm spine

How many pages do I need for saddle stitching?

Page multiples of four are required for saddle stitching / staple binding
